Summary
The IT Technician’s role is to ensure system operation and functionality so that end users can accomplish business tasks. The objective of the IT Technician will be to respond to support requests in a timely manner, be the initial reference point for all IT support-related tickets, and ensure the satisfaction of the end-user, among other technical duties.
IT Technicians are expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments, executive levels, and customers daily.
 
IT Technician I Intern Responsibilities:
  • The Technician 1 – Desktop Support Intern will provide desktop and operational support to assigned site and remote users
  • These duties will include, providing support for Windows 10 and MS 365 by evaluating and troubleshooting issues to include running in-depth diagnostics, identify, research and resolve technical problems
  • Identify and resolve application issues, solve and identify common PC software and hardware problems
  • Promote a high level of customer satisfaction through proper telephone, email and chat techniques and respond with the appropriate amount of urgency to user
  • Document, track and monitor problems within the ticketing system to ensure timely resolution
  • Provide hardware support of PCs and Laptops, such as installing replacement hardware or upgrading hardware
  • Install, configure, maintain, and support computers, printers, fax machines, scanners, and other peripherals and related hardware, as well as remote access devices
  • Support Software/Hardware on equipment such as, Scanners, Copiers, Printers, Monitors and other peripherals
  • Assist in maintaining software and workstation image management, including the use of image deployment software to perform imaging tasks for PC build requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Basic understanding of Networked printers, Scanners, Multifunction devices
 
IT Technician I Requirements:
  • High school diploma and enrollment in IT program/progress towards IT associate degree
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with desktop operating systems including Windows 7, Windows 10, and Mac OS.
  • Experience with server operating systems including Server 2008, Server 2012, Server 2016 is a plus.
  • Active Directory knowledge a plus
  • Kaseya RMM and Autotask PSA Experience a plus
  • Valid Driver License and ability to drive to customer locations when required.
Compensation: $15.00 per hour
