Company Overview
If you have a background and skillset for IT and a determined mindset to overcome any obstacle, you’ll enjoy being part of TeamLogic IT. Our team exhibits a deep-seated need to expand boundaries, flex know-how and resolve challenges with smart solutions. That’s a good thing since technology is always advancing, creating an environment that’s fast-paced and dynamic. When you work for our local office, you’re part of a bigger entity that fosters team collaboration among hundreds of technicians across North America.

Summary
The Senior Systems Engineer’s role is to ensure system operation and functionality so that end users can accomplish business tasks. The objective of the Senior Systems Engineer will be to respond to support requests in a timely manner, be the initial reference point for all IT support-related tickets, and ensure the satisfaction of the end-user, among other technical duties.

Senior Systems Engineers are expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments, executive levels, and customers daily. The Senior Systems Engineer will possess the ability to problem solve at a high level, deliver extraordinary customer service skills, strong multi-tasking with the ability to prioritize competing projects, and utilize exceptional organizational management skills.

The Senior Systems Engineer works jointly with the sales team to provide pre-sales and post-sales support, including tasks such as discovery meetings, site surveys, proposals, and presentations on technical assessments, implementations, and ongoing technical account management.  The selected candidate will be results-oriented, self-motivated, energetic, professional, reliable, and a team player.

Senior Systems Engineer Responsibilities:
  • You will be managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting our clients’ computers, network, servers, systems, and entire IT infrastructure (on-premises and cloud).
  • You will be supporting the end user with everything. This could mean password resets one day and Azure AVD implementations the next. As we said, you have to be willing to pick up a ticket or project and get it done, no matter what.
  • You will be creating, managing, and implementing projects; small to large.
  • You will collaborate closely with clients, diving deep into the versatile functionalities of Azure/Microsoft 365 admin portals to engineer tailored solutions perfectly aligned with their unique needs and goals.
  • Between server deployments and migrations, business continuity & disaster recovery planning, Zero-Trust, and MDM deployments, you’ll be involved in the client’s entire IT infrastructure – because that’s what we do here. We take care of the client’s entire IT world.
  • You’ll be working to support our clients remotely (from our Spokane office) and onsite. This is not a work-from-home position. You will need to live within reasonable commuting distance of our office. Onsite support is critical to the work we do so if you don’t like visiting with or speaking to clients, this isn't the position for you.
  • You’ll be documenting processes, systems, infrastructure configuration, and network mapping. This may be for our clients or it may be for us to use in the future.
  • You’ll be testing complex technical solutions before rolling them out to our clients. If testing is your least favorite part of the troubleshooting process, this won't be a good fit for you.
  • Provide support of incoming requests to the service desk via telephone, web portal, and email to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end-user issues.
  • Provisioning and system setup for new hires.
  • Prioritize incidents and service requests according to defined processes to meet defined SLAs.
  • Use remote tools and diagnostic utilities to aid in resolving support requests.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not appropriate, including hardware repairs, delivery of peripherals, or other fixes as determined.
  • Installing and configuring hardware and software components throughout various network infrastructure devices.
  • Server administration via Active Directory, File & Print services, DNS, DHCP.
  • Network firewall and switch design, administration, and maintenance.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to lower-level technicians, assisting them with complex technical issues and helping them develop their skills and knowledge. You will lead technical projects and initiatives.
  • Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
  • Ensuring company safety and security compliance standards are met.
  • Network and server solution design and architecture.

Senior Systems Engineer Requirements:
There’s no shortage of training here and we don’t expect you to know every tech stack our clients use. To excel in this position, you must have the following experience:

  • 7+ years of Windows server and desktop troubleshooting and management.
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Science and/or 7 years equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications Preferred:  • CompTIA A+ • CompTIA Net+ • CompTIA Security+ • MCSA • Azure AZ-900 or Azure AZ-104
  • Intermediate Mac OS experience
  • Experience researching and solving complex technical issues
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, Microsoft 365, and Azure Virtual Desktops
  • Experience with desktop and server operating systems including Windows 10/11, Server 2016-2022, and Mac OS
  • Experience in virtualization (VMWare and Hyper-V), Active Directory, and cloud hosting including the ability to plan, architect, and implement virtual hosts and virtual machines
  • Installation, configuration, and administration of Windows servers
  • Local and hosted email migrations
  • Network design, planning, implementation, and support including DHCP, DNS, domains, routers, switches, firewall setup, VLANs, VPN access, and redundant ISP load balancing and fail-over
  • Experience using a variety of firewall platforms
  • Providing infrastructure services, including storage networking, operating system, network security, directory services, server virtualization using system backup and restore, system network monitoring application installation and configuration
  • Working for a managed service provider supporting different technologies (We don’t have a single tech stack we manage here. That only works for corporate and we’re anything but)
  • Working directly with the end-user at all levels of the organization. (Yes, you’ll be talking directly with our clients, so if you’re afraid to talk to a real-life human being, this isn’t the job for you)
  • Ensuring data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance for our clients
TO REALLY EXCEL HERE...

  • You’ll need to have a nurturing personality and desire to truly help our clients. We put our clients first in everything that we do and that means meeting them where they want to be met. Just because we ask them to open a ticket with us to document the issue, we can’t be afraid to get on the phone with them if that’s what they prefer.
  • You must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record for visiting clients on-site.
  • You are results-oriented, self-motivated, and energetic with a relentless customer service attitude and exceptional communication skills.
  • You are organized and can multi-task and prioritize dynamic demands
  • You want a long-term role with a growing managed service provider in the Spokane - Coeur d'Alene area.
If you have the drive, willingness, and patience required to research, execute, and implement complex technical issues and understand how critical documentation is for our clients and business practices, you might be the candidate we are looking for.
