This position goes beyond traditional IT support and plays a critical role in protecting client systems, data, and networks while supporting day-to-day operations.

The Sr. IT & Cybersecurity Engineer serves as a trusted technical advisor, responding to complex support requests, leading advanced troubleshooting efforts, and implementing secure IT solutions across endpoints, servers, networks, and cloud environments. Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for service desk requests, ensuring timely, professional, and effective resolution of complex IT and security-related issues.
  • Provide hands-on technical support across endpoints, servers, networks, and cloud environments, with a strong focus on secure configurations and best practices.
  • Provision, configure, and secure systems for new hires, including endpoint protection, access controls, and multi-factor authentication.
  • Administer and secure Active Directory, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, file/print services, and identity/access controls.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain network security infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, VPNs, and wireless security.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls such as endpoint protection, anti-malware, patch management, email security, and DNS filtering.
  • Participate in cybersecurity assessments, vulnerability management, and remediation planning for clients.
  • Support and advise clients on security best practices, policies, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Perform preventative maintenance with a security-first mindset to reduce risk and downtime.
  • Contribute to network and server solution design with an emphasis on secure architecture and compliance alignment.

Requirements:
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Science and/or at least 5 years equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on cybersecurity experience required, including endpoint security, network security, and threat mitigation.
  • Strong experience with Windows desktop and server operating systems, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory environments.
  • Practical experience securing networks using firewalls, VPNs, and wireless security solutions.
  • Experience using RMM, endpoint protection, and security monitoring tools.
  • Strong understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity from a security and resilience perspective.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical and security concepts to non-technical users.
