SYSTEMS ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (L1)
We're looking to fill an IT systems engineer position, IT SR SYSTEMS ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (L1).

- Providing first contact support of incoming requests to the service desk via telephone, web portal, email to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end-user issues.
- Prioritizing incidents and service requests according to defined processes to meet defined SLOs.
- Using remote tools and diagnostic utilities to aid in resolving support requests.
- Taking ownership of tasks and following through to ensure complete resolution.
- Installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting MS Office and MS 365 applications, including user and group management, folder access management, email management, checking event logs, configuring and restoring from backups.
- Performing preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals.
- Performing hands-on fixes when remote tools are not appropriate, including installing, configuring, and testing of workstation hardware such as PCs, monitors, printers, video cards, NICs, hard drives, and mobile devices.
- Installing and configuring hardware and software components throughout various network infrastructure devices.
- Maintaining documentation of client networks and systems.
- Assisting team members on larger projects.
- Remote and onsite work as needed for clients around the Puget Sound region.
- Ensuring company safety and security standards are met.
- College diploma or university degree (AS or BS) in the field of Computer Science, IT Systems Administration or Cybersecurity and/or 2 years equivalent work experience.
- Windows 10/11 Pro desktop operating systems, Mac OS a big plus.
- Experience with server operating systems including Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 is a plus.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 suite of applications, Entra ID, etc. is a plus.
- Experience managing switches, hubs, patch panels and connecting nodes to network systems.
- Knowledge of firewall technologies from Sophos, WatchGuard, Cisco Meraki, SonicWALL is a big plus.
- NinjaOne RMM and Autotask PSA Experience is a plus.
- Valid Driver License and ability to drive to customer locations when required.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- A drive to help others to the extent that no problem is considered mundane, no matter how simple the solution.
- The ability to pay close attention to details while performing technically intensive tasks.
- Team player with ability & willingness to recognize when it's necessary to ask for technical expertise from others in order to learn.
- Be self-motivated and can be self-directed when necessary.
- You should demonstrate a work history that includes similar professional experience supporting Windows-based network environments.
- You need to show that you are a true IT Generalist: you have some knowledge of all mainstream hardware & software platforms commonly used in business environments.
- You should show that the IT field is/was a deliberate choice on your part – because you *want* to be in this field. You should be passionate about the power of technology in helping people to reach their goals.
- You should demonstrate that you possess that elusive trait – the ability to summarize, speak and write about technical issues in a way that a non-technical audience can understand.
- You must demonstrate that you understand what it takes to provide best-in-class client-oriented services.
- And, since IT is a tough field and working for a small company can be intense at times, showing your sense of humor certainly does not hurt. 😊
